Where is the car located? Looks and sounds like a car that was built here in Colorado lived here for a number of years. If so, it was reasonably well put together and the engine in it was in decent shape when installed. At the time it was way cheaper than rebuilding the shagged 2.7l and smog wasn't really an issue.
If you want to discuss the car a bit privately drop me a line. I think it is a $10k and if you can get it for less I would seriously consider it.
