When I was a kid mom and dad would load my two brothers and I into the station wagon and drive from SoCal to Kansas to spend a couple weeks with grandma, grandpa, and assorted uncles, aunts, cousins...
We shot guns, hunted frogs, rode minibikes, went swimming in the lake.
We grew up and my brothers kids only know family vacations in Hawaii.
Now, Hawaii ain't bad... but I wounder if his kids missed out on something.
