Oh yeah! I grew up in what was then Eau Gallie, now part of Melbourne. My Dad worked at Cape Canaveral as it was called then. Lived there from late 50s thru early 70s
The peak of the space boom in the area.
I'd say I was part of the second wave of surfers on the coast, Hell we would wave to each other on the road and give a sign as to the conditions behind us, and try to get together to surf together, for the company. Worked as a lifeguard in Satellite Bch. for a few years. Good times! Still say yaall sometimes.
