Moved to Florida in Jan. 1970 - Oak Hill - just a 20 minute drive north of the Cape.
Loved road trips to Brevard County. Cocoa Beach pier, Patrick Air Force Base "Picnic Tables", Indiatlantic (home of Dick Catri Surfboards).....lot's of surf history in that area.
Heck I bought first Florida board at Ron Jon's! It was a Surboards Australia tri-fin.
Back on thread topic - I think our Buick was a little older than yours John - maybe a '55.
My Dad called it a "Three Hole Special".
