I actually got the pyrometer for the office. The laser one is far more appropriate for my primary use than one with a probe.

It seems to me that the tire surface ought to cool in a fairly even fashion. I don't particularly care what the actual temp of the tire is, more the temps in the middle and toward the edge. I guess the sidewall would be make it cool a bit more slowly on the edges. I have it I will probably take it just to see.

There won't be anybody running the same tires as I am, cheapo Kumho street tires, hence I will need to experiment with the tire pressure some. The fore and aft weight distribution is pretty close to 50:50, I wonder why the tire pressures recommended are so far from that. I know what camber settings people like for miatas, but I don't want to run that much on a street car. It probably won't matter that much until I learn to drive it better and get coil overs anyway.
