I'm surprised you cannot clear an ABS related code with the Durametric, did you try running the "Short test all modules" under the "Functions" tab? The Durametric features matrix also clearly shows it supports reading and clearing ABS codes on your model, so you may not have set the software correctly when you connected.
And as you have been disconnecting the brake sensors, are you sure you did not also do so to one of more wheel speed sensors (would trigger the ABS)?
