With the 150th anniversary of the Civil War underway I thought I would go down to check out the re-enactment at Chancellorsville where Stonewall Jackson was mortally wounded and Stephen Crane was inspired to write the Red Badge of Courage. I was surprised to see the re-enactors far outnumbered the spectators. They actually encamped for the whole weekend in full regalia. They said they were expecting t least 10000 re-enactors for Gettysburg coming up this summer.
