Things most appreciated in my garage that might help:
LIGHT! I have four dual bulb 8' fluorescent lights in my garage, and might add one or two more. I also replaced my garage door with one that has windows, huge difference.
Nothing on the floor. I did shelving up high on each side to get stuff off of the floor, it makes walking and sweeping so much easier. I just used prefinished Formica shelving from a home improvement store and L brackets, cheap, easy, and looks good.
