One reason I actually like this (sort of) is that there is no medical liability. In treating patients, I always feel the spectre of legal liability. It's that proverbial 1000-lb gorilla on my back. But for once, when doing medicolegal stuff, there's no liability. Just give an honest opinion. Let someone else deal with the mess. Christ is that refreshing. Plus, for once I feel I get paid in excess of my social worth.
I can see that. I don't think people outside of healthcare understand the immense pressure on ordinary humans to perform miracles every day. It's a big emotional strain. That's one of the reasons why I got out of bedside nursing. It's hard to deal with that day in and day out. Sad to say I don't have that stress any more like that and I make a ton more.
