OK, I found out what was causing it. By going into cCleaner and looking at the startup menu items, I one by one disabled ones I wasn't sure of. Did a reboot each time. Seems the AVG secure tracking exe was the one causing the screen to appear.
I want to thank all that replied. This is why Pelican rocks. It's the people who are willing to give of their time and expertise to those of us who are ignorant of how all this stuff works.
