Common sense went out the window a long time ago. We never pretended pencils were guns, we pretended they were swords. So we used to play fight and stick each other with the pencil tips. When I was in high school, I made a few swords in metal shop. I did have to do some pretty good convincing, though.

But.. this zero-tolerance thing has reached a high level of stupidity.
