I'd say there are a lot of variables to consider, such as the price point, volume being sold, drastic aesthetic changes, etc.

Look at 993 to 996, then the 996 to the 997.

Or 987 Cayman to 981 Cayman (I'm going to guess that 987 Caymans will drop significantly).
