Although I agree that less weight is a better thing. I want to have "some" amount of noise reduction as this is going to be a dual use car. I have stripped the factory sound deadening material off the interior side of the floor pans.

I chose the SEM 40977
SEM 40977 Sound and Seal Sprayable Coating - SEM Adhesives

because of the 2 part. I borrowed a SEM 70039 gun and spray applicator tip from a friends body shop,
SEM 70039 Pneumatic Applicator Gun - SEM Adhesives
but I am not happy with the coverage and it took forever to get it to spray out. (not sure if I have the wrong settings on the gun)

It took 2 tubes to cover the front duct for the oil cooler area. I am basically looking for something that I can use to seam seal the rear firewall and get a good coat of sound deadening. If I were to keep using the SEM 40977, it will cost me $350 in material!!

Again, this is going to be a street car with track events. I have shaved enough weight on other parts of the build, just want to get rid of a little bit of the "tin can" sound of a true race car.

Thanks for the input.
