Well,

I got the cluster out but not before i did some more damage. The retaining clip on the clutch cable bent up and out of the way rather easily. But no matter how hard i tried/pried, i couldn't get the nipple portion to slide out of the clevis fork.

So it looks like i need a new fork and retaining pin correct? With the current access it looks like removing and re-attaching the new fork will be a PITA. Any suggestions?

And once this is all complete, will I need to adjust the clutch? This was done a few months ago.
