Tweeze, it's an awesome experience to scuba dive if you haven't already. There is a local area I dive when I have a dive buddy. It's an old quarry that has been flooded. 120 feet at the deepest part and they have a bunch of boats and other things sunk down to make it interesting.

I went "snuba" diving in Hawaii, where you tote your tank around on a little inflatable boat so you don't have to get certified. Ton of fun and since then, I always said I wanted to get certified and dive the coral reef in Australia (on the life list). It gave me a tiny taste of what I want.
That is what does it when I get down one of crazy paths. We have lakes here where you can get certified. My friend said skip the lake and we'll go on a trip to get the certification done. All the prep here in AZ. A lot of people go to Mexico too since it is so close. CA too.
