Why is everyone so focussed, fixated, on vent temperatures..?
With a system that ALWAYS operates in recirculate mode vent outflow temperatures are meaningless once the cabin is cooled down to a persons comfort level.
An even lower fan speed would have probably resulted in a fully consistent 34F reading.
My '78, before any A/C mods, would have likely reached the same vent outlet temperature with a consistent 90MPH wind flowing over the front condensor and engine RPM that consistently high.
The real measure of a system's cooling capability is the inlet/outlet DELTA.
