Just my 2 cents on hydraulic lifters,if they tick randomly across the motor when the oil /engine is cold they will usually come right after 2 oil and 1 filter change.
If they tick contantly and clatter under revs with a warm engine they will probably never come right,the ATF flush is a last resort and I personally have had no luck doing it when the lifters are in this condition.
The oil changes can clear the lifters and also give the crankcase a clean out,hell if you have to do it 3-4 times its WAY cheaper than a lifter replacement.
Remember to use a OEM filter as they work the best.
