My mom is thinking about replacing her Volvo 960 with approximately 200k miles. She has been thinking about an Audi A6/A8. We did look at a 2006 Audi A8 4.2L with ~70k miles for 19k. I listed the pros and cons below.

Pros:
- Timing belt was done recently.
- Bentley Service Manual is available for the car.
- VAGCOM appears to support all of the systems.
- 4.2L V8 engine appears to be very solid.

Cons:
- Air suspension system ($$$)
- PACKED with electronics that may eventually fail.


Has anyone owned an A8? Does anyone have any feedback about them? Do you think an A6 (C6 generation) would be a better car?
