My most fun car was a 65SC Cab which I regretfully sold for $2500 in 1976 to buy a VW Rabbit & a Saab 96 (wtf was I thinking). My wife and I had just been married (guess that's what I was thinking) and we needed two cars and the SC was just to impractical and to expensive to maintain for near broke newly weds, so it needed to go. I got a call from Bruce Baker about 2 months later telling me he had just bought it as a parts car after the guy I sold it to pancaked it into a wall. I was pretty depressed after that phone call, but life goes on. About 2 years later I just couldn't stand not having a p-car to play with so I found & brought home a 1970 911T sunroof coupe. Needless to say $1500 even in 1978 didn't buy much, but 5 years, a lot of elbow grease and $5200 worth of body (bare metal re-paint) & mechanical (engine & trans) work brought it back to almost new. That car was pretty much the most fun I had on 4 wheels until the 944S2. Bringing it back from oblivion, the crazy awesome people I met along the way of restoring; I could probably write a book as I suspect so could most everyone on this board. Now looking forward to having the 73.5 going soon; more memories in the making!
