I swear by Continental tyres. I got 12 months out of a set of Continental 4 Seasons tyres with no problems at all.
Then I switched to GP4000S tyres and have used them for training and racing. 8 months in so far in all conditions from melting-tar-hot to driving-rain-near-freezing, again with no problems.
I can't see my future tyres being anything but Continental. Oh, and they are handmade in Germany!
