i called BASF again about your color to talk with the person who is in the know with things like this .
BASF also has no info on the color they have the color code listed but no name or forumla for it . so porsche did send it to BASF why or how the rest of the info was not handed over to BASF i don't know .
thank god this was the falt of the guy that i replaced at porsche and not me who screwed up by not documenting the info .
i have one more person i can call about this but it does not look good . the two places that should have the info does not . i'm going to call BASF HQ today and ask them to check back in the paper records that porsche would have sent them to see if they have any thing on the color .
but i think this code just fell thru the cracks ?
if the person that was putting together the list of colors used for that year missed of skipped over one color code then the color info would be lost and if it is or was a one year color and they skipped over it it's lost for all time .
at that point you can only color chip it and get a match that way you will still not have the name of the color but you would have a match to it .
if you have to do that you would have to go to the area BASF jobber (store) and ask them if you could use there color chips for a day or two and find a match . BASF has what are called color max chips they are spray outs done with real paint .
you could also have the jobber use the color camera to try and get a match that way but color cameras are only 70 % accurate . it may not be what you want to hear but if the info was lost it maybe the only way .
