Euro M030 Suspension
Hey guys and gals,
I appreciate all the help each and every member has given me throughout my year of ownership. I've learned tons and I'm currently prepping to take on a pretty big project.
I want to replace all control arm bushings and install the M030 Kit. This will be the first time I've ever taken on such a large project. It'd be awesome to get any pointers from willing readers.
To give you an idea of my skill level: I've done oil, brake fluid & lines, transmission mounts, motor mount, fuel filter, throttle body disassemble &clean, and MFA replacement. As you can see...I hope to take on a MUCH more difficult project.
A few questions:
1. What is the recommended spring compressor? I'm a little on edge about using one for the first time but it seems simple enough. I've got my eyes on the OEM 25550 Strut Spring Compressor that if I read correctly will fit both stock springs and M030.
2. What is your preferred method for the rear suspension? I plan on disconnecting the CV joints instead of the rear axle nut... from what I've read it should be much easier.
3. Would you expect any clearance issues given the following: My car currently has struts and springs with about 99k miles...the car was lowered with H&R springs... and I plan on using jack stands. I wish I had personal access to a lift!
I'm leaning towards me removing the necessary parts & control arms and having my kick-ass mechanic press the control arm bushings and verifying new strut/spring units before I install them. The whole torch and bench vise bushing install method seemed bad given its a rubber component.
Thanks everyone!
