Lately I'm seeing a lot of baby Ninjas tooling around here. 250-500cc. If you're not a gorilla like me (6'1", 225 lbs) one of those might be worth looking into.
I like Schumi's dirty bike idea better, though. A thumper (single cylinder) really is the ultimate in simplicity. For some reason (maybe just sheer perversity) I always wanted to get an MZ Skorpion Replica.
