check the rubber gasket that sits atop the firewall and separates the air intake plenum from the engine compartment. make sure that the rubber gasket is all the way across top and is not deformed, or broken.

also, double-check to make sure there is not a crack in the exhaust manifold or any other part of the exhaust system.
