Here is a little information about the lifters from Bennington Motorsports:

The only change I make is that to test the lifter/cam follower, press in the button and compare to others. Hard feel is best--replace "soft", easy to press in lifters

If you need spares, get good used INA lifters---new INA lifters have a failure rate.

Repeating Bennington---lifters go in the same bore they came out of.

Timing Gear? Not enough experience. You already have the main failure part--pads.
