Hello Bennett:
I undertook this project about 2 years ago and it was quite easy with the right tools. I bought most of mine at Harbor Freight (Cheapies, I know... but works well for a guy like me). Bought the Euro Suspension from Sunset Porsche.
1. I used the Harbor Freight Spring Compressor without any issues.
2. I disconnected the rear CV as opposed to the axle nut. Infact, I replaced the CV Bearing and boot while I was at it because the boot was torn.
3. I bought a low profile jack form Harbor freight with lift height of 22". That gave me plenty of room even with a creeper.
I did not replace my control arm bushing.. I have about 103K miles now and plan to replace all the arms this summer.
