I decided to weld my broken my shift linkage despite having a good one currently in transit. This would avoid a premature engine drop. If you want the play by play here it is.

I found that the shift rod was cracked and needed to be repaired.

I vice gripped the part together....

Welded it and cleaned it up with my grinder and dremel.

I put it all together and greased it up nicely.

After it was all together, it ran like a dream. I can now get to every gear with little problem at all.

I took it for a nice long drive. It started and idled nicely. The whole ride I didn't have any problems with idle. I haven't taken it on a full drive...you know, 20 mins, it is doing fairly well. I do notice there is some slight hesitation in it. I suspect I am running too lean. I am going to have to clean this up again.

Here is my dash after about 15 minutes of driving. Nicely idling at 1000 rpms. Haven't had that yet. I am getting closer and closer to getting this properly tuned.

Next up tonite, if I can get out is to replace my fuel line to the WUR to satisfy Timmy2. Then perhaps, I might hit the polisher on the deck lid. Oh and yes, the foggy gauge is rather annoying. It's on the list.
