My oil gauge does the same and I've seen pictures of others doing it as well, what in the world causes that one to fog?
I read up on this a while ago, overtime, the car gets moisture in the gauge. You can get rid if it by carefully drilling a hole in it and filling it with desiccant (you know that little bag of stuff you get in electronic that says "do not eat").

ANother option I have heard about was taking it out and putting it in a very hot dry place but positioning it so the steam can rise out of the gauge. Probably this could be done with a hair dryer.

On really damp days it is pretty foggy, but in general it is clear. Again...just another item on the list. Funny how many of the same problems we seem to have.
