I went to a presentation for the SAE chapter here from a Cal Poly grad who went to work for the Lotus customer racing department in 1969. That was his first time out of the country (said he couldn't understand a word anyone said over there ). He had some great stories, but his degree was in Industrial Technology since it was easier to get into than Mechanical Engineering. He said they used to call it IT for short but they can't anymore.
