I posted this in the for sale without realizing I could not get thread replies there so,
Sorry to put this out as a feeler, but I am a little torn about selling and would like to get an idea of interest and value. The pictures are a few years old, except for the shop one that shows the fog lights I just took.
1973 911E Targa, the car shows 89,000 original miles but the odometer broke a few years and a few thousand miles ago. About 8 years ago it was stripped completely to bare metal, re-sprayed black on all surfaces in and out with PPG urethane, and cut & buffed to a nice finish. It was painted with the doors and fenders off. It had no rust to repair at that time and has none now. It has a 964 decklid with the retractable wing and it fully functions, I have the original decklid and all the other original parts also. It has Euro lenses, H1’s and Euro bumper over riders. The car has the original heart deep six Fuchs it came with and new BF Goodrich G-Force’s in 205/55 and 225/50. The car had fog lights originally also, although the actual lights were not on the car and I put these on. It has been lowered to Euro height and had the front spindles raised 19mm, has 21mm front torsion bar with an adjustable 22mm sway bar, turbo tie rod ends, a bump steer kit and has a strut brace also. Rear suspension has aluminum banana arms, adjustable spring plates, 26mm rear torsion bar and an 18mm adjustable sway bar. Has adjustable Koni’s all the way around.
Interior has vintage Recaro’s, RS door panels and rear seat delete carpet kit from AppBiz. Momo Corse steering wheel. Has a 10,000 rpm tach. Dash pad has been replaced with a late model pad. It had original AC that I never reinstalled but goes with the car. All new weather stripping , door and window gaskets and Targa top seals. The Targa top is original and in pretty good condition, no rips or tears.
Engine originally built by IMSA driver and mechanic Rusty Bond, is a 2.7 from a 2.4 and has a 7R case that has been Time-Cert and Helicoiled with 90mm Nikasil cylinders, camshafts are Web-Cams grind #104/102 that are similar to the Solex grind, Pressure fed tensioners with the upgraded chainwheel, heads ported to 36mm, PMO 40mm Webers. Has Turbo valve covers and a late model alternator and fan housing. Just did fresh rings and rebuilt heads. Heads were rebuilt by John Walker in Seattle. Bottom end has around 85,000 miles and it runs strong. It has an Electromotive crank fire ignition, SSI heat exchangers and a stainless GHL muffler. Has a Bosch rollercell fuel pump.
All the calipers were rebuilt and it has new stainless brake hoses, new master cylinder. Pedal cluster was rebuilt.
Magnesium 915 7.31 R/P transmission was just gone through by John Walker and shifts well. The shifter bushings were all replaced and it has a factory short shift kit.
I have the original suspension parts, seats and muffler. I’m sure I forgotten quite a bit but that’s most of it.
I have had the car for about 20 years, I just don’t drive it much and am looking to fund a vintage hot rod project. Car is in WA.
Thanks, Matt
