About four years ago, I bought this car from a friend who had let it sit for years in a covered carport, with the noble intention of addressing the most pressing mechanicals first and paint/body in the future. I've had most needed suspension work done, replaced the tires, replaced the rotten exhaust with headers and stainless muffler, and had it tuned up. It goes, stops and turns pretty well, and doesn't pull when driving or braking. The pictures tell the story of the body: some prior owner tried to update it, and it was painted a pearlescent white (it was originally Ivory). The floors need to be replaced. It's had accident damage repaired on the passenger rear. At one time it had A/C, but that's mostly all been pulled out. My wife backed into the drivers door at slow speed, and that door skin (along with the passenger door skin) will need to be replaced. It has its original motor according to the COA, but the COA says it was born with a five speed transmission, and it has a four speed. It is a fun driver, handles well (but has a bit of a high idle) yet I know that I'm not going to take it any further. Gauges (except clock, intermittently) work, but speedo reads a little high. Seats were replaced with aftermarket Recaros. Odo shows about 6,900, so I'll assume that's only turned over once. COA says it came with chrome wheels, so I'll further assume the Fuchs are fakes (how to tell?). I'm new to the forum, and welcome your comments, suggestions and advice. Thanks! Scott
