If his mind is not right he will never quit. I hit rock bottom and the decisions at that point are fairly easy.
It is like quitting smoking, I quit several times and had a very hard time with it every single time. This last time I just knew it was the right time and that it was going to stick this time.
Some people never get to that point where they can do it, some get lucky and do.
