Make sure you
really want a gel saddle. You might hate that squishy feel, and a firm (not hard) saddle that fits well and is positioned properly could be the better answer. There are shops that will let you try before you buy!
As to grips, I have ergo grips on my commuter hybrid and I absolutely love them. I used to think they were a gimmick, but I am totally sold on the idea...
