My 2001 996 had an EvoMS open element intake and Cargraphic mufflers, it was by far the best sounding Porsche that I have owned. My '88 Carrera currently has a cat-bypass and a B&B 2-out, even then the 996 sounded better. The Boxster/Cayman are fun because the intake is just over your left shoulder, with the window or top down it can really tickle your ear. Dunno about the Cayman, but the Boxster has an intake silencer just inside of the body intake panel, removing it only takes a few minutes and makes the car sound much better.
