A pit is OK for doing oil changes but I really want to get the weight off of the wheels most of the time. Constant trips in and out of a pit gets old real fast.

Huh. Very good arguments for a lift. But I agree with Jeff, lots of work. I guess you just have to weigh the pros and cons. Sounds like you are set on raising the roof.
