As a former Cayman owner, I do not think you will regret the trade you have made. The Cayman is so much easier to live with daily, and has all the modern features (including safety) that you need.

When I wrecked mine it was a really difficult decision as to whether I should get another one, or something aircooled. Ultimately the build quality made the decision for me and I bought a 964. They don't make anything like they used to, and Porsche is no different.

I wanted something without all the plastic, and that had soul. The Cayman has alot of sex appeal, and it has the capability to go around the track very fast, but the engineers left a lot on the table to allow the 911 to remain top dog. There is nothing inherently wrong with that, it just irks me a little.

A couple things you might want to do:
1.Extend the emergency trunk release cable into the driver's side front footwell in case your battery dies and you cannot get into your car
2.Buy a clear engine cover to show off the engine, and maybe paint the plastic intake red or yellow Cayman clear engine cover. - 6speedonline.com Forums
3. Become a member over on Planet9, they are the go to forum for the 987C, not RL or Pelican
