I have driven one before, and that's why I'm hooked on the idea all these years later. Honestly I've tried to drop the idea so many times before only to have it come back to haunt me.
But I can be patient for the right one. I'm of the "caretaker" variety and shop owners as much as the car. I bought a 69 Westy about 1.5 years ago after years of searching. I feel like I got the perfect one from an elderly owner who wanted it to go to a good home. I keep in touch with him with pictures of our travels.
It's easy to be patient at this point because I have kids in ballet and little league sports and with 2 old cars to take care of already (and I like to do my own work) I wonder if I have the bandwidth for another right now. So I continue to set money aside and check the classifieds.
