My father grew up and was very good friends with Michael Collins. Met him many times. Super nice and humble guy. One of his jobs was to design the space suits for the Apollo missions. Too bad he didn't get to walk the walk on the moon.
I used to do some work on Edgar Mitchell's car back in the late 80's. He was bat **** crazy but a nice guy. He once told me that everyone that has gone to space comes back changed in very profound ways, especially the moon walkers. He would not elaborate.
