Thanks,

Just wanted to make sure I wasn't imagining things, so I pulled the passenger seat that I had installed. The passenger seat had the same MB connector on the seat. There are spots for 8 pins, but there are only 4 used (numbers 3,4,7, and 8).

The bridge connector wire that doesn't exist (according to the dealership) is present on the passenger side (See first photo). It is a female 8 pin MB connector on one end (MB part number 006 545 81 28) and has smaller male connectors on the other end. The end that connects to the car wiring is broken so I can't read the part number. The tag on the part reads; Porsche 964.612.227.00- 1/0 Auftrags NR etc. etc. etc. It has a hand-signed date of 9/91 which makes sense because my car is a '92.

The interior of the MB bridge connector on the passenger seat is shown in the second photo. It has brown, red, and black wires entering. The brown wire is jumped to the next 3 spots on the same side. The red wire is jumped to the next 2 spots on the same side. The black wire is alone on the same side as the red, but at the end.

On the passenger side at the floor, the multimeter says the socket for the red is hot and the brown is ground. I don't know what the socket for the black wire is. If I can leave the black wire disconnected on the passenger's side without problems, then I should be able to leave the purple wire disconnected on the driver's side. Maybe. I don't know.
