Looks like a cool car, Ian.
I had a Peugeot turbo diesel wagon as a rental in England last year and it was equipped with the Eco mode thing too.
I thought the damn thing was stalling on me for the first 10 or 15 minutes that I was driving it!
It did get amazing gas mileage though and moved along quite well.
