Hello all, I have been having trouble with the electricals in my dashboard since last friday. The wife and I took our 951 for a little fast run, and suddenly I noticed the 'BRAKE PAD INDICATOR'
light on. I wasnt sure of it at the time because the words came up in German.
Anyway, I wasn't going to post any pictures, but this afternoon, the alarm came up again and my water temp gauge went up to the red zone, which caused some concern, after all the cooling system has just been overhauled. New pump, thermostat, all hoses, the works.
I have noticed a blown diode, in the back of the cluster.
Here are some pictures of the LED conversion and the blown diode and track.
You must also use a resistor in line to reduce the voltage to the LEDS, reducing the voltage from 13.8 to about 3 Volts DC, failing this, the LEDS WILL BLOW.
The resistor I used is an 90 OHMS, 25 WATTS. I used one of the olD dash BULB HOLDERS to power up the LEDS.
