Did that trip in a 77 CJ-5 (Golden Eagle) with a poorly done lift kit and only a bikini top. Yes, it rained all the way through Louisianna and I was hating life. Every expansion joint sent the Jeep violently one way or the other. Had to stop in Slidel due to an overdose... Diet coke and several No-Doze resulting in severe gastrointestinal dysfunction. 24 hours in a $20 a night motel and a couple gallons of gator-aid later I was good to go. Spent most of that time sitting on the throne with a plastic trash can in my hands, fluid was coming out of both ends faster than I could replace it.

Did the same trip a few years later in a 1990 Miata with a buddy. I avoided the no-doze but stopped at the same motel just for fun. It was still only $20 a night.
