Don't worry, chip and pin will be in place by the end of next year. At a demo at work a couple of months ago, they took my credit card and made a duplicate with a little portable scanner in about 30 seconds. From there, anyone could sign it and they would be me. When I lived in London 7 years ago, your card never left your sight. They brought a portable scanner, scanned your card at the table and you entered your pin. We are way behind and identity theft is is a bigger threat every day.
