Detroit’s murder rate of 54.2 per 100,000 residents was the second highest in the country last year. The homicide rate in Detroit, which included 386 criminal murders and an additional 25 justifiable homicides, reached the highest level in nearly 40 years. Sad for so much history to be disintegrating, but then I guess it isn't the first time that things have been lost to time and it won't be the last.
