I think you'll find part of the explanation includes a discussion of a couple of the curbs. Point being that had the drivers not been using them so hard, they would not have been damaging the tires.

I try HARD to miss all commercials. I prefer to record the race and watch it at my leisure later, and skip the commercials. I really suspect they are trying hard to make that plan more difficult. They change the broadcast channel and the delay constantly.
