Wow, those prawns from the supermarket are great.
And cheap! a whole pile of them for $10.
But did you know... The cheap ones are imported from Asia and have been factory farmed in sewage ponds. Yes, it's a cheap and easy way for some Asian countries to semi treat their sewage before they dump it in the sea, and the by-product of it; lots of yummy prawns.
Plus when you tear the head off them and peel the shell off there is always a lot of that colored guts stuff left on, and you think "Never mind, it adds to the flavor." That is someone else's poo that the prawn hadn't digested yet.
They dump a whole lot of chemicals and antibiotics into the water to keep the disease at bay too, so this finds it's way into your prawn meal.
