I've painted a few with decent results using various types of paint.
I have used water based exterior house paint products and automotive type bumper products.
The problem area is the crease in the fenders.
When the fenders get loaded up with mud they really flex cracking the paint.
The problem was on bigger bikes which get launched off jumps and ridden very hard.
The 80 might not get the same use.
