Hi John. The part you seem to describe is actually a moulded plug, it has no part number by itself and doesn't come off the rubber cable. However, the whole cable can be replaced (expensive!). The part numbers are 944 612 107 00 & 944 612 108 00 for the two sides, your Porsche parts supplier should be able to help you work out which one you require.

Looking at the cable it does look like the ABS version - does it have 4 connectors in it? The non-ABS version was flatter and had only 2 connectors for the wear indicator.

The brown lead is a ground cable, it should have a flat round bolt-through connector on it. This then bolts onto the strut at the same point as the plastic bracket that holds the connector.

Here is a photo of a non-ABS clip and cable (it is a rear one, but they are the same design).
