He may know Porsches cars, but he sure doesn't know about air cooled 911s. Anyone that has ever done an oil change on a Carrera knows a oil change is max 10 quarts. I usually just add 9 quarts. Drive it to get up to full temp. Check the dip stick, add enough to get it between the two marks max. It usually takes about 10 quarts. If he did not get the engine up to normal operating temp and then check the dip stick for oil level he did it wrong. It is obvious he didn't or he would have seen all the smoke.

Find out exactly what oil he used and find out if it is appropriate for flat tappet cam engines.
