my point was more general, rather than specific for hitting a deer.

my point is that i've been seriously injured in traffic accidents while walking, bicycling, driving a car, and riding motorcycle. the bicycle was arguably the worst. crap happens.

anecdotally, my friend's father used to buy totalled cars to rebuild and sell. he bought a 911 that hit a deer. i am sure that they were traveling at an uber high rate of speed, but, long story cut short: the deer went through the windshield and removed the driver and his spouse's heads, more or less.
